Privacy policy.

Automation Solutions Co. is a solo, owner-operated business based in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada. This policy covers what this website collects and what happens to it. It is written to follow Canada's PIPEDA.

What I collect

The only personal information this site asks for is what you type into the "Send me your website" form: your website address and your email address, plus an optional yes or no on whether you are currently running ads. The form also contains a hidden field that visitors never see; it exists to catch automated spam, and a submission that fills it in is discarded without being read.

That is the whole list. There is no name field, no phone field, no message box, and I never ask for access to any of your accounts to start.

Why I collect it and what I do with it

I use those details for one thing: to look at your website and reply to you. When you submit the form, the site sends one notification email to my inbox through Resend, an email delivery service; your email address is set as the reply-to address so I can answer you directly. The site does not store your submission anywhere else. I do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or add you to a marketing list. If we do not end up working together, I am happy to delete the email on request.

The site also enforces a small limit on how many submissions can come from one address in an hour. To count them, the server keeps your connection's IP address and the times you submitted in its memory for up to an hour. That record is not written to disk and is not sent to me or to anyone else. It is dropped after the hour has passed (the next time the server handles a submission) or whenever the server restarts, whichever comes first. If the limit is reached you are told so and given my email address instead.

Analytics and trackers

This site counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, the visitor counter built into the service that hosts this site. It does not use cookies. One visitor is told apart from another by a hash made from the incoming request, and that hash is discarded after 24 hours, so the site cannot recognize you from one day to the next. What is recorded with a page view is the page address, the site that referred you, your approximate location (country, region, city), and your browser, device type and operating system. Vercel states that this is not tied to any individual or IP address. I use it to see which pages people actually read. The script is served from this site's own address, not from a third-party domain.

Beyond that there is nothing. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels, and no social-media trackers. Its fonts and images are served from this site. If anything else is ever added, this page will say what it is before it goes live.

What stays in your browser

The light and dark switch saves your choice in your browser's local storage so the site opens the way you left it. That value never leaves your device and is not sent to me or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes it.

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I will take care of it.
